Motion Study: Adidas

The Adidas Trefoil Symbol Motion Study is an exploration of transforming a recognizable static two-dimensional logo into a dynamic and visually engaging motion sequence. The project aims to create a four-dimensional concept by infusing motion into the logo while adhering to the design guidelines associated with the Adidas brand. The chosen symbol, the Adidas trefoil, serves as the central visual element and is animated to convey a sense of natural friendliness and casual ease while maintaining the brand's original emphasis on activity.

Objective:

The primary objective of this project was to develop a visually appealing and conceptually engaging motion study centered around the Adidas trefoil logo. The animation sought to capture the essence of the trefoil as a flower opening up, invoking feelings of light playfulness and casual ease, and emphasizing the strength and permanence of the brand through horizontal unfolding of the brand name.

Symbol Motion Study:

  1. Trefoil Transformation:

    • The animation begins with the trefoil symbol in its static form, positioned at the center of the screen.

    • The motion unfolds as if the trefoil is blooming like a flower, with each petal gradually opening up.

  2. Light Bounce:

    • As the trefoil petals open, they exhibit a subtle and playful bounce, creating a sense of lightness and playfulness.

    • The motion and bounce are designed to convey a friendly and casual vibe, aligning with the concept of casual wear.

  3. Brand Name Emphasis:

    • The Adidas brand name is introduced with a horizontal unfolding motion, symbolizing the brand's strength and permanence.

    • The brand name appears solid and heavy, contrasting with the lightness of the trefoil's motion.

  4. Sound Integration:

    • The motion study includes sound, which complements the visual narrative and enhances the overall experience.

    • Sound elements may include gentle rustling, opening, and closing sounds to accentuate the trefoil's motion.

Outcome:

The "Adidas Trefoil Symbol Motion Study" successfully transformed a static logo into a dynamic and conceptually rich animation.
